At Yobotics we create legs, whether they be artificial legs to help disabled people walk, or part of legged robots. Some of our previous "leg-work" has gone into the RoboWalker, a powered orthotic brace which will augment or replace muscular functions of the lower extremities.
An early version of the RoboWalker provides super-human capabilities to Yobotics Co-founder Jerry Pratt who is shown here climbing stairs with power assist being provided by the device. He is also shown walking outside in Government Center in downtown Boston.
We also make robotic simulation software and are currently working on a SBIR contract.
Our love of legs stems from our background. Yobotics was spun off from the MIT Leg Laboratory in January 2000. While at the Leg Laboratory, we worked on a variety of Legged Robots.
