Electric SEA (3.5MB)

This video shows the electric actuator lifting 300lbs up and down.  First, this motion is achieved by changing the desired set point of the controller.  Then, 300lbs is balanced by the actuator and lifted up and down by the touch of a finger. This demonstrates the high force fidelity and backdrivability of the series elastic actuator.

Hydraulic SEA (2.5MB)

Similar to the first video, the hydraulic actuator is shown balancing 300lbs.  Again, the 300lbs is lifted by the touch of a finger.

Shock Loading (3.0MB)

This video shows the actuator under heavy shock loading (the bang of a hammer).  The actuator remains stable during the test and is unharmed by the extreme loads.  Similar tests have been performed on the electric version.
