  Welcome to Yobotics!

At Yobotics we create legs, whether they be artificial legs to help disabled people walk, or part of legged robots.

Our most recent projects are a Humanoid walking robot, being developed in collaboration with the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition, and the Yobotics Simulation Construction Set software package, which is available free of charge.

Some of our previous "leg-work" has gone into the RoboWalker, a powered orthotic brace which will augment or replace muscular functions of the lower extremities.

An early version of the RoboWalker provides super-human capabilities to Yobotics Co-founder Jerry Pratt who is shown here climbing stairs with power assist being provided by the device. He is also shown walking outside in Government Center in downtown Boston.

Our love of legs stems from our background.  Yobotics was spun off from the MIT Leg Laboratory in January 2000.  While at the Leg Laboratory, we worked on a variety of Legged Robots.
